Selected realizations
The aim of the project is to develop a process innovation in the form of a complex, highly efficient and automated galvanizing technology, cumulatively implementing technological improvements implementing the concept of Industry 4.0 with reduced negative impact on the environment. The solution will be developed within the framework of 5 stages of R&D work, which will result in a functional technological sequence.
The essence of the innovation will be to develop technological solutions to increase the efficiency of the process and reduce waste, cost and energy consumption, while being able to maintain high quality zinc coatings:
- automated surveillance system
- surface preparation section,
- dehumidification section,
- galvanizing section,
- passivation section
The result of the project will be a process innovation in the form of an improved, complex, highly efficient and automated hot-dip galvanizing process, improved according to the Industry 4.0 concept, with reduced negative impact on the environment. Implementation of the results will take place through introduction of the R&D results to the plant of FAM S.A. located in Rawa Mazowiecka (łódzkie voivodeship).

The aim of the Project is to develop innovative dedicated solutions for surface preparation in the process of hot dip galvanizing of steel, including products for the construction, energy and automotive industries. The Company’s technology planned for development is a process innovation at least on a scale of Poland. Implementation of the Project results will take place through introduction of the R&D work results into own business activity of the FAM Company. The process planned for development will be characterized by unique solutions, crucial in the perspective of achieving increased efficiency of the process through increasing its productivity and reducing its cost-intensity, including, among others, in the following areas – Product degreasing process; – Product etching process; – Two-step rinsing and fluxing process; – Product drying process. As a result of the implementation of the process innovation, the Company will be able to offer a higher quality hot dip galvanizing service on the market, characterized by increased aesthetics of the surface of galvanized elements, including free of discontinuities, furrows, unevenness – which will directly respond to the defined needs of target customers. In order to achieve the defined result of the Project, the Company will carry out R&D works divided into 1 Stage of industrial research and 2 Stages of development works, the final effect of which will be a surface preparation technology demonstrator validated in conditions of actual use in the hot-dip galvanizing process.

The aim of the Project is to develop an innovative and highly automated technology for application of hot-dip zinc and zinc-aluminium coatings dedicated to small and medium-sized steel components. The technology to be developed will constitute a process innovation on the scale of at least the domestic market due to application of a number of dedicated and original solutions in the process, e.g. in the area of surface preparation (automated transport system), drying (original developed dryer allowing for synchronous drying of assortments of different sizes). The technology under development will also enable the introduction of a product innovation on the market in the form of an anti-corrosion zinc-aluminium coating, not used so far for individual products, with better functional properties than the currently used zinc coatings. In order to achieve the defined result of the Project, the Company will carry out R&D works divided into one stage of industrial research and two stages of development works, the final effect of which will be a demonstrator validated in the conditions of actual use in the form of a technological line intended for metal plating of small and medium steel elements. The implementation of the Project result will take place by introducing the results of planned R&D works in the Company’s own business activity on the premises of the production plant in Oborniki.
